Charlie a commencé à jouer de la guitare dès l'âge de huit ans et fut aussitôt accepté au Fine Arts Center, où il étudia le Jazz tout au long de ses études au lycée. Avant de partir pour des études musicales plus approfondies à l'Université North Texas, il reçût l'Award d'Outstanding Senior Guitarist (guitariste senior exceptionnel) en 1999.
C'est au Texas qu'il tomba amoureux de la guitare acoustique, après avoir échangé son électrique pour une archtop d'une bonne vingtaine d'années. Puis il déménagea à Asheville, en Caroline du Nord, pour créer le groupe de bluegrass Steel String Theory. Il enregistra Curve in the Road avec SST en 2004, et produisit The North Buncombe Years pour le groupe en 2006, en même temps que Charlie Chamberlain Christmas (2006). Et déjà de nouvelles compositions originales sont à enregistrer (2008).
Habitant maintenant à Chapel Hill, en Caroline du Nord, Charlie a écrit et produit des musiques pour la télévision et des films, et joue à travers tous les Etats-Unis et l'Europe avec The Ranchhands.
It was in Texas that he fell in love with the acoustic guitar, after trading in his electric for a vintage archtop. Next up was a move to Asheville North Carolina to start the progressive bluegrass band, Steel String Theory. He recorded Curve in the Road with SST in 2004 and produced The North Buncombe Years for the band in 2006 along with Charlie Chamberlain Christmas(2006) and yet to be released record of original compositions(2008).
Now living in Chapel Hill, NC, Charlie has written and produced music for televison and film and performs throughout the U.S. and Europe with the Ranchhands.
